This is part 2 of my research on Hot Fuzz. I have made a second video of 2 scenes that contain fast cuts like we will be doing in our project, but these 2 are quite different from the others in the first part of research.

Clip #1:
This scene shows a police officer processing the arrests of several people including taking their photographs and writing paperwork. This scene is very different from the others because it has very erratic camera work, effects and music. The cameras shake and jump cut frequently to different angles of the same thing and pan quite quickly. There is also a lot of white flashes, which could be linked as a theme because they are having their photographs taken.
The camera work is much more varied than in the other scenes because it has a different style so it isn't static camera angles with closeups. The scene also lasts 21 seconds which is a lot longer than other similar scenes in the movie. In the context of the film this is to show how much work he put in and how dedicated he is.
The sound is also interesting. Unlike the other scenes this one doesn't contain much diagetic audio, mostly music, a song with what sounds like an 80's rock vocalist and a guitar strumming a simple tune. This makes the scene appear more action, rock and roll than it would otherwise be.
Clip #2:
This second scene is very much styled after the first one. Edgar Wright, the director sets his films up so the second half of the film mirrors the first but with opposites. So this scene is cut together very much like the first except instead of boring paperwork they are loading up guns in preparation for a big shooting scene so the visual content backs up the music, in contrast to the first scene with the same song.
